Send in your photo of your local telephone box and what its used for.

As more and more people are beginning to choose a less heavy digital lifestyle, by ditching their mobiles phones, I would urge councils and airports and hospitals and every local village and supermarkets to install public phones.

Having travelled internationally for a year without a phone I do find airports do not have many payphones. This one I spotted in Dublin Airport this year was a welcome sight.

We must not become stranded by not being able to communicate with people when we travel especially and yet the sad fact is that people are finding other uses for the ignored telephone boxes - as mini libraries, emergency boxes holding defibrillators.

JOIN THE CAMPAIGN: ‘SPOT THE BOX!’

Please send in a photo of your local telephone box/payphone ( if you have one) - please credit the photo with its location. It is important that we can get an idea of exactly what is available out there.

It is true that the telephone boxes have declined due to people not using them anymore as they are using their own mobiles and yet, as the tide turns, and people are feeling the full effects of their digital age, we need to ensure that people can still operate without a mobile phone if they choose to do so. Many people suffer with EHS ( ElectroHyperSensitivity) and with 5G on the way we need to to have mental healthier alternatives. Bringing back payphones and telephone boxes is a MUST.

Many parents I have spoken to do not want to give their children a mobile phone and yet they site they have to as they want to know that they’ll be safe. Agreed, but at what cost? By reintroducing this rare-breed of payphones we can help people stay safe and stay in touch - however, by turning a blind eye and allowing these communication life-lines to disappear would be a travesty.

By taking away phone boxes we are feeding the mobile phone giants by supplying them a needy stream of customers.

LET’S GET TOGETHER AND CELEBRATE THESE PUBLIC UNLOVED PAYPHONES AND GIVE THEM A CHANCE OF COMING BACK TO KEEP THE PUBLIC SAFE AND CONNECTED.
